Simple Path.

The simple life how simple you are not…but in these days of our intentional return to the past, that which has come before us. I take a deep breath in the simple. I realize more and more the mantra of the past….. to eat it up, to wear to out, to make it do, or to go without. In between those lines lies beauty. Beauty that is not found elsewhere. Beauty is in the handmade meals that we prepare together, and humbly come as one to partake. Beauty in the worn, in the cozy comfort of soft cotton, sweet smell of woolens. Beauty in the hands that mend. In the hum of the sewing machine. Beauty in reusing, recycling and passing down. Beauty in making do. Beauty in the simplicity around us. In many cases old and worn. Simple and humble. Warm. Sensible. Thankful. Words that come to my mind in the beauty of making do.
Beauty in the going without. To go without. Humble words. Hard to take into practice in this place we find ourselves. Excess exists at every turn. Excess at the end of every road it seems. Excess was not a word that those who went before understood. In our world this is now a constant reality. We seek to live separate from the excess. In the separation is the beauty. The simple life becomes so much more clear.  A path. A path of truth. A path of labor. The work may be hard. But oh what lies in the work. It fills your soul. Separation from what the world seems to know as truth, may seem overwhelming. Frightening even. But in the simple life you will gain strength. You will find hope, contentment, growth, and thankfulness. Fullness. Life will find you as you seek out a simple path.
